Richard Louv, Children and Nature Network
Their vision? A world in which ALL children play, learn and grow with nature in their everyday lives. Their mission? The CNN is leading the movement to connect all children, their families and communities through innovative ideas, evidence-based resources and tools, broad-based collaboration and support of grassroots leadership. In my words? They are changing the world one child, one family, one community, one step at a time. Richard Louv is not only leading the charge for this amazing organization. He is also the author of the book Last Child in the Woods, in which he directly links the lack of nature in the lives of today’s wired generation (he coined the phrase nature deficit disorder) to some of the most disturbing childhood trends, including the rises in obesity, attention disorders and depression. I loved the book and I am honored that I will get to interview a man who is truly making a difference for this great planet of ours. This show sponsored by Chapman Automotive.
