A little over thirteen years ago, I had a dream. I wanted to tell anyone who would listen that our planet was in trouble and that we all need to join hands, pull in the right direction and work to stop the carnage that I witnessed in the Amazon Rainforest – among other things. Thirteen years later, I can assure you that from the genesis to the execution and evolution of one’s dream, it never happens alone.
If you are reading this, thank you – plain and simple! Further, please know my intention in writing this is two-fold. First of all, if family, friends and even strangers didn’t care enough to hear me out, listen to me with all of my craziness and passion and excitement sometimes wrapped up into one conversation, I would not be sitting here writing this letter. My dream would not have become a reality. Mrs. Green’s World would not have had literally millions of people listen to our podcasts. We wouldn’t have almost 9000 engaged followers on Facebook and almost 2000 on Instagram. We would not be recognized as leaders in the sustainability movement locally, nationally and to some extent, internationally. We would not have over 4300 loyal subscribers to our newsletters nor dozens of business partners stepping up to not only fuel our movement but help us grow, expand our reach, and make a bigger difference because the planet needs our voice. And, selfishly, I would not have had the opportunity to interview (and spend one-on-one personal time with) Dr. Jane Goodall, visit the White House and be less than 10 feet away from President Obama, travel to the Amazon Rainforest a second time due to the generosity of two dream makers and the list goes on. I invite you to please pause for just a minute or two and fully embrace what you have helped make happen – it’s called making a dream become a reality.
My second intention is to ask you to consider helping to make some of our other dreams come true by making an end of year donation to Mrs. Green’s World. If you still believe in the power of our dream, know that the clear, present and relentless reality of climate change is upon us and because you want to be a part of helping us expand our team and our impact – then we need you. The support we receive from our donors provide us with the resources to create blog and video content, work with nonprofits to provide engaging sessions on climate change and healthy living and develop online training seminars exploring the concept of resiliency as it relates to our climate reality. We have a clear vision of how we will expand this work in 2021 – will you be someone, whose financial support, makes this next year our best one yet? You are just one click away from making a tax-deductible donation to Mrs. Green’s World.
Regardless of your decision, please know, in some very deep place in your heart that because of you, there is an us. You are a dreamer maker and we are very blessed.
