For years I have been meeting people at Starbucks for both business and pleasure. Then I heard a guy named Michael Shuman speak. Michael wrote The Small-Mart Revolution. It’s about how local businesses are beating the global competition. Not only was he armed with facts, research and great stories, he busted myths like there was no tomorrow. I love myth-busters. AND he really made me think about what other changes I could make in my life.
Now instead of meeting at Starbucks (and I have NOTHING against them at all), I meet people at a locally owned coffee shop named Ike’s. It’s convenient, the atmosphere is great and I know most of the money I spend is staying in my community. My sustainable community.
Where is your Ike’s?
